MOTOR FATALITY AT NORTH PETHERTON

A sad fatality occurred at North Petherton about 12.30 p.m. on Friday of last week, resulting in the death of Mrs. Eliza WILSHIRE (88), residing at Mill Street in the village.

It appears that the deceased had been to the post office to obtain her old-age pension, and was stepping off the pavement to cross the road when she was knocked down by a passing motor lorry belonging to Messrs. HANCOCK, brewers, Wiveliscombe. Mrs. WILSHIRE sustained injury to head, a broken leg and other injuries. She was conveyed to her home, but death ensued about an hour after the accident.
