KINGSBURY EPISCOPI.

THE HOCKEY CLUB. - Kingsbury Episcopi were at home to East Coker on Saturday and avenged their defeat sustained at East Coker by winning the match by three goals to one. At the interval the scores were level, each side having scored once, the homesters through E. H. NORTHOVER. In the second half Kingsbury Episcopi put on two more goals through C. MOUNTER. - To-day's match is with Petters' (Yeovil) on the home ground.

FOREIGN MISSIONS. - Mr. A. E. HUNT, of Martock, presided at a Foreign Missionary meeting held at the Wesleyan Church on Friday of last week. The Rev. W. O. BARRATT, who gave the report, spoke with great praise of the amount raised by Kingsbury Episcopi and the enthusiasm manifested for foreign missions. The Rev. F. W. CLIFFORD gave an address on “The Modern Pilgrim.” The meeting was very well attended.

DEATH OF MR. SAVIDGE. - A well-known local resident has passed away in the person of Mr. John Richards SAVIDGE, at the age of 70 years. The deceased, who was a farmer and cattle dealer, was a familiar figure at the markets held in the neighbourhood. He leaves a widow and one son – Mr. L. SAVIDGE – to mourn their loss, to whom much sympathy is extended in their sad bearavement [sic]. The funeral took place on Thursday afternoon.
