KINGSBURY EPISCOPI.

THE PARISH CHURCH. - The patronal church festival was held on Wednesday of last week – Armistice Day – when there was a celebration of Holy Communion at 7.30 a.m. and a service in the evening conducted by the vicar, the Rev. E. R. TUXFORD. A good congregation attended the evening service The festival was continued on Sunday.

WHIST DRIVE AND DANCE. - At the recent whist drive and dance held in the church schoolroom, in aid of the Kingsbury Hockey Club, a very pleasant evening was spent. Despite the weather, 16 tables were occupied for whist and many more turned up for the dance after. The music was supplied by Mr. BENNETT's Orchestra. The duties of M.C. were ably carried out by Mr. NORTHOVER for the whist, and Mr. STEVENS for the dance. The prizes were presented by Miss LUTLEY to the following: Ladies. - 1, Miss HAWKINS; 2, Mrs. FRY. Gent.'s. - 1, Mr. PARRIS; 2, Mr. WAKELEY. Hidden number, Mr. S. STUCKEY. The club benefits by the sum of £5 5s. 5d.

FUNERAL OF MR. SAVIDGE. - The funeral of the late Mr. J. R. SAVIDGE, whose death was recorded in our last issue, took place on Thursday of last week. A service at the Wesleyan Church was conducted by the Rev. W. CLIFFORD, of Crewkerne, who was assisted at the graveside by the Rev. A. H. READ, Congregational Minister of Curry Rivel. The remains were laid to rest in the Cemetery. The mourners present included: Mrs. SAVIDGE, widow; Mr. L. SAVIDGE, son; Mrs. B. SAVIDGE and Mrs. L. SAVIDGE, daughters-in-law; Messrs. Hedley SAVIDGE, Ernest SAVIDGE, Graham SAVIDGE and Edward SAVIDGE, grandsons; Mr. and Mrs. B.[?] MALE, brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Mr. and Mrs. W. MALE, brother-in-law and sister; and several friends. The bearers were: Mr. G. MOUNTER, Mr. F. FURBER, Mr. L. SATHERLEY, Mr. J. NORRIS, Mr. C. MALE, junr., and Mr. O. KNIGHT. The coffin was of unpolished English oak with brass fittings, the inscription on the breastplace being: John Richards Savidge died November 5th., 1925, aged 70 years.” The funeral arrangements were in the hands of Mr. H. EVES. A number of beautiful floral tributes were sent.
