FORMER RAILWAYMAN'S FUNERAL
At North Petherton cemetery on Saturday the funeral took place of Mr. Aaron WILLIAMS, who died on the previous Tuesday at his residence, 167, St. John-street, at the age of 86. Mr. WILLIAMS, who was a native of North Petherton, had been in the service of the Great Western Railway permanent way department for 54 years, retiring as a ganger 16 years ago. The Rev. P. M. TAYLOR, vicar of St. John's, conducted the service, and the mourners were Mrs. WILLIAMS (widow), Mrs. E. J. REED (step-daughter), Mrs. A. JACKSON and Mrs. E. BURGESS (daughters), Mrs. J. KENYON (sister), Messrs. E. JACKSON and R. BURGESS (grandsons), Miss I. JACKSON (grand-daughter), Messrs. F. and W. WILLIAMS (nephews), Messrs. A. JACKSON and E. BURGESS (sons-in-law), and Mr. R. KINGSTON (brother-in-law). Also attending were Mr. C. MANNING (permanent way inspector, Taunton), Mr. F. RUGG (permanent way inspector, Bridgwater), Mr. F. WARREN (ganger, Bridgwater), Mr. F. BAKER (retired foreman, G.W.R., Bridgwater), and brethren of the Odd-fellows' Order, of which deceased had been for many years a member, the oration for a departed brother being given at the graveside by Brother F. J. COLLARD. - Messrs. J. E. GILBERT & Son, St. John-street, carried out the funeral arrangements.
