NORTH PETHERTON

CRICKET CLUB DANCE. - An enjoyable time was spent by a large company, including visitors from Bridgwater, at North Petherton Cricket Club annual dance, held on Thursday night at the George Hotel Assemby-rooms, <sic> Music was provided by Cecil SENDELL's New Orpheans. The arrangements were in the able hands of Mr. B. J. CLATWORTHY and a Committee.

NONAGENARIAN'S FUNERAL

LATE MR. HENRY PARKER.

The funeral took place at the Cemetery on Monday, following a service in St. Mary's Church, of Mr. Henry PARKER, of Hammet-street, one of the oldest inhabitants of the village, who died on the previous Wednesday, at the age of 91 years.

For about two years Mr. PARKER had been confined to his room, and 12 months ago he lost his wife. For many years he had been employed as a journeyman baker by Mr William WARREN, and later by his nephew, Mr. John WARREN. Thirteen years ago he retired, and had lived quietly since. He leaves a grown-up family of five sons and five daughters, with whom much sympathy has been expressed.

The funeral service was conducted by the Vicar, Rev. J. ADDY. Members of the family and many friends were present. Those who followed to the Cemetery included:- Messrs. Harry, Walter, and Wm. PARKER (sons), Mr. W. PARSONS (son-in-law), Messrs. W. MILLER and G. JENKINS, representing the Foresters' Friendly Society, and Mr. John WARREN. The bearers were Messrs. Clifford, William, Bryan, and Edward PARKER, and Messrs. Charles and Reginald WILKINS (grandsons).
