RUGBY PLAYER MARRIED

Miss Florence Daisy HAYES, twin daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. HAYES, of 19, Foxdown-terrace, Wellington, was married at Wellington Church on Saturday to Mr. Edward Clifford MARKE, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. W. MARKE, 22, Bovet-street. The bridegroom is a playing member of Wellington R.F.C. The service was conducted by the Rev. R. S. K. LANCE

The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of pink floral georgette with pink picture hat and pink satin shoes, and carried a bouquet of pink and yellow roses. She was attended by two bridesmaids, Miss Margaret HAYES (her sister) and Miss Doris MARKE, sister of the bridegroom. They wore dresses of blue silk crepe with head-dresses of pink roses. Their bouquets were of pink picotees. Miss HAYES' bouquet was afterwards placed on the grave of her grandfather at Bradford-on-Tone and that of Miss MARKE on her brother's grave at Wellington Cemetery.

The bride's mother was in a blue silk crepe dress and the bridegroom's mother in navy blue silk.

The “best man” was Mr. J. HOOKWAY.

As the couple left the church the bride was presented with silver horseshoes by Shirley WAYGOOD, niece of the bridegroom, and Norah PARSONS, friend of the bride.

A reception was held at the residence of the bride's parents. The wedding cake was made and presented to the bride by Mrs. E. TWYFORD, of Pyles Thorne.

The large number of useful gifts included an overmantel,, bedspread and tray cloth from the bride's fellow workers at the Spinning Department, Tonedale.
