LATE MR. HENRY ROSEWELL

INTERMENT AT CREWKERNE CEMETERY

The funeral of Mr. Henry ROSEWELL, of Thickthorn, who died in his 81st year, took place on Thursday. The first part of the service was held in Ashill Parish Church, and the interment was at the Crewkerne Cemetery, the body being laid to rest in the same grave as that of his wife. The Rev. Mr. PATCH officiated.

Mr. ROSEWELL was extremely well known and highly respected, especially among the farming community. Born at Honiton, he came to reside in the Ilminster district about 50 years ago, and farmed at Shave Farm, Donyatt, for seven years. He retired from active business about 16 years ago, and went to reside at Thickthorn. He was a regular worshipper at the Ashill Parish Church. His wife predeceased him over 40 years ago. He leaves eight children.

The immediate mourners were Miss M. ROSEWELL, Mrs. C. BAKER, Ilminster, Mrs. JAMES, Wellington, Miss F. ROSEWELL, and Mrs. HELLIER, Swindon (daughters); Messrs. ROSEWELL, Ilminster, F. ROSEWELL, Isle Brewers, and Harry ROSEWELL, Axminster (sons); Mr. Harry ROSEWELL, Ilminster (grandson); Miss Margery ROSEWELL (grand-daughter); Mr. Tom ROSEWELL Honiton, Mr Fred ROSEWELL, Awliscombe, and Mr. William ROSEWELL, Honiton (nephews); and Mrs. Fred ROSEWELL (niece), Mr. G. CHAFFEY, of Chard, was also present.

Among others present at the church were Capt. J. DUKE, Messrs. LOCK, E. F. BRITTEN, A. E. SANDY, F. HARVEY, Fred MARSHALL (Combe St. Nicholas) COLLIER (Axminster), Mr. and Mrs. MEDLAND (Ilton), Messrs. SPARKS and EDWARDS, Mr. and Mrs. WHITE, Mrs. BRAGG, Mrs. CLAPP, and Mrs. DURMAN.

There were many floral tributes.
