WELLINGTON BRIDEGROOM

CEREMONY AT HALBERTON.

MR. F. A. CHANT AND MISS V. M. HELLIER.

The wedding took place at the Parish Church, Halberton, near Tiverton, on Saturday, of Mr. Frederick Alvin CHANT, adopted son of Mrs. WAYGOOD, of 16, Mantle-street, Wellington, and Miss Violet May HELLIER, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick HELLIER, of Crosspark, Halberton. The Vicar (Rev. D. Stephen EVANS) officiated.

The bride, who was given away by her father, wore an ankle-length dress of oyster satin with halo hat and veil. She also wore a spray of dark red roses and orange blossom and carried an ivory Prayer Book, lent by the bridegoom's mother.

There were five bridesmaids. The Misses Doris and Nellie HELLIER (sisters of the bride) were in dresses of blue floral satin. They wore head-dresses to match and carried posies of white carnations. Joan HELLIER and Sheila and Shirley WAYGOOD (twin nieces of the bridegroom) were in pink ankle-length dresses with head-dresses of pink roses, and they carried baskets of pink and cream roses. Each of the attendants received a bracelet as a souvenir from the bridegroom.

Mr. Herbert NUGENT, of Wellington, a friend of the bridegroom, was “best man.”

Following a reception at the bride's home, Mr. and Mrs. CHANT left for Wellington. The bridegroom gave the bride a pearl necklace with gold clip; the bride's gift to the bridegroom was a signet ring.
