PARISH CHURCH WEDDING

MR. STANLEY WILLETT AND MISS LAURA DRAYTON

The wedding took place at Barrington Parish Church on Saturday of Mr. Stanley WILLETT, third son of Mrs. WILLETT and the late Mr. T. WILLETT, of Hayes, Middlesex, and Miss Laura DRAYTON, eldest daughter of Mrs. DRAYTON and the late Mr. G. DRAYTON, of Barrington.

The Vicar, the Rev. J. B. GLASS, performed the ceremony, and Miss BOND was at the organ. During the afternoon and evening touches were rung on the church bells.

The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. Arthur DRAYTON, wore a dress of ivory romaine jacquard, with tulle veil, held in place by halo of lilies of the valley. She carried a bouquet of white roses and lilies of the valley.

There were four bridesmaids, the Misses Kathleen, Edith and Florence DRAYTON (sisters of the bride), and Florence WILLETT (sister of the bridegroom). They wore ankle length dresses of white crepe georgette, with red sashes and shoes and red and white headdresses. Their bouquets were of red roses with maidenhair fern. They also wore diamente brooches, the gift of the bridegroom. As the bride left the church, little Sheila MARTIN (cousin) handed her a silver horse-shoe, and little Avril MARTIN gave her a pair of silver slippers.

Mr. T. WILLETT (brother of the bridegroom) was “best man.”

The reception was held at the home of the bride's mother, about 40 guests being present, and later in the day Mr. and Mrs. WILLETT left for their honeymoon, touring in Devon and Cornwall, the bride travelling in a two-piece suit of turquoise blue, with nigger brown hat and shoes.

The bride and bridegroom received nearly a hundred presents, the bride's gift to the bridegroom being a wireless set and the bridegroom's to the bride a silver fox fur.
