BARRINGTON
NEW YEAR'S-DAY WEDDING
MR. E. T. MALE and MISS C. M. PAINTER
The wedding was solemnised at Barrington Parish Church, on New Year's-day, of Mr. Edward Tom MALE, second son of the late Mr. Isaac MALE and Mrs. MALE, of Puckington, and Miss Clotilda Maud PAINTER, only daughter of Mr. Ernest PAINTER and the late Mrs. PAINTER, of Barrington.
The service, which was conducted by the Rev. J. B. GLASS, was choral, the hymns sung being, “Praise, my soul, the King of Heaven” and “The King of Love my Shepherd is.” Miss BOND was at the organ.
Given away by her father, the bride wore a dress of white satin, with veil and coronet of orange blossom, she carried a bouquet of arum lilies. The three bridesmaids were the Miss Vera and Frances PAINTER (cousins of the bride) and Audrey MALE (niece of the bridegroom). They were attired in turquoioe <sic> blue marocain, with silver head-dresses and shoes to tone, and carried bouquets of pink carnations. Mr. Jeth. MALE (brother of the bridegroom) was “best man.”
The reception was at Barrington School, and, later in the day, Mr. and Mrs. MALE left for their honeymoon in Herefordshire, the bride travelling in a grey costume, with hat and shoes to tone.
Both bride and bridegroom received many gifts from relatives and friends.
