DRAYTON

WOMEN'S INSTITUTE. - The monthly meeting was held at “Palfreys” on Thursday, Mrs. R. CELY TREVELIAN presiding. Mr. POWELL, of the Somerset Farm Institute, Cannington, gave an interesting and instructive lecture on “Gardening,” and afterwards answered many questions. He was heartily thanked by Mrs. CELY TREVILIAN. The competition, a flower button-hole, was judged by Mr. POWELL, who made awards as follows:- 1, Mrs. EDWARDS; 2, Mrs. GRAY; 3, Mrs. T. DABINETT.

BELFRY DEDICATION

At St. Catherine's Church on a recent Sunday, the Vicar (the Rev. R. J. HAWKINS) dedicated a wooden plaque in the belfry, inscribed with the names of the ringers who recently rang a peal of 5,040 changes. All the ringers were Drayton men, and the plaque was erected to commemorate the occasion.
