SEAVINGTON

A SHEPTON BEAUCHAMP BRIDEGROOM

WEDDING OF MR. J. M. ROWSWELL AND MISS M. SWAIN

The wedding was solemnised at Seavington Parish Church on Thursday afternoon, of Mr. James M. ROWSWELL second son of the late Mr. C. ROWSWELL and of Mrs. ROWSWELL, of Hillview, Shepton Beauchamp, and Miss Margaret SWAIN, twin daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark SWAIN, of Seavington.

The Rector (Rev. H. W. F. FAGAN) officiated at the choral service, the hymn sung being, “Love Divine, all loves excelling.” Mrs. HOLE was organist. A large number of friends assembled to offer good wishes to a popular young couple.

The bride, who was given away by her father wore a gown of white figured French silk cut on Elizabethan lines, with veil and halo of orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of mauve carnations. She was attended by Mrs. G. SILLS (twin-sister of the bride), matron-of-honour, Miss Janet ROWSWELL (sister of the bridegroom), and Miss Jean COOK (bridegroom's niece). The first two wore dresses of mauve taffeta silk, with net overdresses and puff sleeves and carried bouquets of pink carnations. Miss Jean COOK wore a similar dress with a muff. Mr. William ROWSWELL (brother of the bridegroom) was “best man.”

The reception was at the home of the bride's parents.

The bridegroom gave the bridesmaids ivory covered Prayer Books, and the younger bridesmaid a gold bangle. Among the numerous presents received were a pair of pictures, from the Seavington G.F.S., of which the bride is a member, gifts from the bride's fellow workers at Messrs Day, Foley & Co.'s Ilminster, and also from the employer and employees of Coombes & Sons, Ilminster, by whom the bridegroom is employed.
