WELL-KNOWN METHODIST
FUNERAL OF MRS. W. S. HAYES.
Mrs. Sara Kelly HAYES, of Greylands, South-road, whose funeral took place at Taunton on Monday, was a member of a well-known North Devon family, the COBBLEDICKS, who for generations had been connected with the sea.
Mrs. HAYES, who died at the age of 75, was a prominent figure in local Methodism. Her late husband, Mr. W. S. HAYES, was for many years superintendent of the Ebenezer United Methodist Chapel, Taunton, and one of the founders of the chapel at Hillcommon, near Taunton.
The funeral service was at the Temple Church, Taunton, the Rev. G. H. McCORMICK (superintendent minister) officiating
The principal mourners were Mr. and Mrs. S. B. HAYES, Mr and Mrs. W. S. HAYES (sons and daughters-in-law), Mr. and Mrs. P. V. ROBINSON, Mr. and Mrs. G. H. MACLENNAN (sons-in-law and daughters), Miss I. HAYES (daughter), Mr. J. COBBLEDICK and daughter, Appledore (brother and niece), Mrs. A. HAYES, Bishop's Hull (sister-in-law), Mr. and Mrs. W. C. FIELD (cousins), Mr. P. HAYES, Mrs. J. PLUMRIDGE London, and Miss M. HAYES (grandchildren), and Captain and Mrs. QUANCE, Appledore.
