CURRY RIVEL

MOTOR-CYCLIST INJURED

Mr. Victor Edward BURGE, of Council Houses, Townsend, sustained a compound fracture of the ankle when he was involved in an accident on Thursday. He was returning to his home by motor-cycle at about 5.45 p.m., and at the Drayton-lane turning, Curry Rivel, came into collision with a motor-lorry driven by Mr. Robert DUNFORD, of Bower Hinton, Martock.

The lorry was proceeding from Taunton and was about to turn into Drayton-lane, whilst Mr. BURGE was travelling from Langport along the main road.

The Langport and District Ambulance conveyed Mr. BURGE to the Taunton and Somerset Hospital, where he was detained. Last summer Mr. BURGE's young son was killed in a motoring accident in the village.
