CHEDDON FITZPAINE

MARRIAGE OF MR. H. A. SING AND MISS K. M. WESTACOTT

The wedding took place at St. Mary Magdalene's Church Cheddon Fitzpaine, of Miss Kathleen Maud WESTACOTT, third daughter of Mrs. WESTACOTT, of Cheddon Fitzpaine, and the late Mr. WESTACOTT, formerly of North Lake, Lapford, and Mr. Harold Arthur SING, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. J. S. SING, of Westacott, Marionsleigh. The Rev. C. GRAHAM (rector) officiated.

Mr. S. SAMPSON, at the organ, played bridal music and the accopaniments to the hymns, “How welcome was the call” and “Lead us, Heavenly Father, lead us.”

The bride, given away by her uncle (Mr. Arthur SHAPLAND), wore a bright Lido-silk dress flecked with silver and relieved with a band and sash of silver. Her hat, of reslaw straw, was trimmed with blue and silver ribbon, tied in a large bow at the back, and a spray of orange blossom underneath the brim on the left side. Her elbow-length silk lace gloves and stockings were in pale biscuit, and shoes in navy. She carried a bouquet of pale mauve chrysanthemums and long-trailing fern, tied with silver ribbon.

The bridesmaid, Miss Clarice WESTACOTT (sister of the bride), wore a Lido dress relieved with a gold band and sash. Her elbow-length silk gloves and stockings were in beige, while her shoes and hat were navy. She carried a bouquet of bronze chrysanthemums and fern, tied with gold ribbon.

On leaving the church the bride was presented with two silver horeshoes. A small “good luck” one was presented by Miss Shirley WARD (niece of the bride groom), and a real silver one, hanging on cream and silver ribbon tied in a bow bearing a sprig of heater in it, was given by a friend of both the bride and bridegroom. The bride's gift to the bridegroom was a writing bureau, and the bridegoom's gift to the bride a china cabinet. He gave the bridesmaid a gold wristlet watch. A reception was held at the home of the bride's mother. Mr. and Mrs. SING are to live at Buthay Farm, Mariansleigh.
