MILVERTON
WOMEN'S INSTITUTE. - The monthly meeting of Milverton Women's Institute was held on Tuesday (February 6th). A letter was read from Mrs. Moberly BELL regretting that her husband's illness prevented her giving her demonstration on curry making. Mrs. SLANEY and Mrs. DEACON kindly deputised. Mrs. SLANEY brought samples of bread and bath buns, giving recipes and explaining how they were made; and Mrs. DEACON gave recipes for Irish potato cakes and Irish soda bread. Both of these demonstrations were much appreciated. The social half-hour took the form of a spelling bee.
