WELLINGTON WEDDINGS
MR. A. W. WAYGOOD AND MISS E. C. JENNINGS.
The wedding took place at Wellington Parish Church on Thursday of Mr. Albert William WAYGOOD, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph WAYGOOD, Rackfield, Wellington, and Miss Ethel Cicely JENNINGS, eldest surviving daughter of Mrs. K. JENNINGS, and the late Mr. C. W. JENNINGS, Burbage, Wellington. The Vicar (Rev. J. H. D. GRINTER) officiated.
The bride, who was given away by her brother-in-law, Mr. J. HASKINS, wore a blue-grey costume, with accessories to tone. She wore a spray of white carnations, and carried an ivory-bound Prayer-book, the gift of the bridegroom.
Mrs. R. WAYGOOD (sister-in-law of the bridegroom) was matron of honour, and wore a grey costume with hat to tone, and a spray of white carnations. From the bridegroom she received a gold dress ring. Mr. R. WAYGOOD (brother of the bridegroom) was “best man.”
On leaving the church the bride was presented with three horseshoes by her nephew, Malcolm, her niece, Maureen, and Olive PARSONS (friend).
A reception was held at the bride's home. The numerous presents included an over-mantel and linen basket to the bride, and a timepiece to the bridegroom, from their fellow-workers in the Spinning Department at Tonedale.
