FUNERAL OF MR. W. P. PAWLEY

The funeral took place on Friday of last week of Mr. William Pollard PAWLEY, aged 51, of 57, Outer Circle, Taunton, who died in the Taunton and Somerset Hospital on Monday, February 17th. Mr. PAWLEY, a native of Devon, had lived in Taunton practically all his life. For the past six years he had been a butcher's roundsman for Messrs. A. C. Bowerman, Ltd., of High-street. He had been in ill health for about a month. He leaves a widow and five children. A son-in-law, Mr. W. NEWMAN, is a prisoner of war in Germany.

The funeral service at Victoria Methodist Church was conducted by the Minister, the Rev. W. Basil BOWYER. The organist was Mrs. Reginald LOOSEMORE. The hymns were “Jesu, Lover of my Soul” and “The King of Love.” The interment was at St. Mary's Cemetery.

The mourners were Mrs. PAWLEY (wife), Messrs. J. and R. PAWLEY (sons), Mrs. W. J. NEWMAN (daughter), Miss Edith PAWLEY, Miss Margaret PAWLEY (daughters), Misses Emma and Minnie PAWLEY (sisters), Mr. W. POLLARD (uncle), Mr. and Mrs. TONG (sister and brother-in-law), Mr. and Mrs. WOODLEY (sister and brother-in-law), Mr. and Mrs. NEWMAN (friends).

Among the many friends at the church were Mrs. W. T. CLIST, Mrs. W. CLIST, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. BOWERMAN, Mr. C. BURTON (representing staff of Messrs. A. G. Bowerman & Co.), Mrs. J. CONSTABLE, Mrs. VEAL, Mrs. H. PARRISH, Mr. H. DOMINEY, Mr. POOLE, Mrs. SUTTON, and Miss BAKER.

There were many beautiful floral tributes, including a marble vase with flowers from the neighbours of Outer Circle.

The funeral arrangements were entrusted to Messrs. E. White & Son, East Reach, Taunton.

Mrs. PAWLEY and family wish to thank all friends and relatives for messages of sympathy and floral tributes received, also the Matron and Staff of the Taunton and Somerset Hospital for kind attention.
