WEDDING OF MR. F. G. GARLAND AND MISS I. H. BATTRICK
The wedding took place at St. John the Baptist Church, Bere Regis, on Saturday week, of Miss Iris Hilda BATTRICK, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. BATTRICK, of 18, Sitterton Close, Bere Regis, and Mr. Frederick George GARLAND, youngest son of Mrs. and the late Mr. GARLAND, of Taunton.
The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a pale mauve dress, with light grey coat and hat, and a spray of pink carnations. She was attended by her sister (Miss Mary BATTRICK), who wore a grey swagger coat and blue hat. The “best man” was Mr. Norris FOSTER, of Parkstone, cousin of the bride.
On leaving the church the bride was presented with a silver horse-shoe. The Rev. R. C. HERRING officiated. The reception was held at the bride's home. The couple were the recipients of many useful presents.
Later Mr. and Mrs. GARLAND left for Taunton for the honeymoon.
