LANGPORT.

CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH WEDDING.

The marriage was solemnised by the Rev. Arthur LAMB at the Congregational Church on Saturday of Mr. Sidney James BEACHAM, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. BEACHAM, of Garden City, Langport, and Miss Marjorie Constance NICHOLLS, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. NICHOLLS of Drayton. The service was choral, and Mrs. L. WEBB was organist. Given away by her father, the bride wore an ankle-length dress of white satin beaute, with veil and wreath, and carried a bouquet of lilies. She was attended as bridesmaids by her sister, Miss Christine NICHOLLS, and the bridegroom's sister, Miss Phyllis BEACHAM. They wore dresses of pink net over pink satin, and floral headdresses, and they carried sheaves of gladioli. Mr. A. F. BEALING, of WINCANTON, was “best man” As the bride left the church she was presented with silver horseshoes by Leslie BEACHAM, Shirley STEVENS, Brenda HECTOR, and John HARRIS, and with a “mascot” by Edna WILLEY.

Mrs. MEAD, the bride's employer, kindly lent her car for the wedding.

The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a gold watch, and to the bridesmaids he gave bracelets. The bride's present to the bridegroom were cufflinks and tiepin.

A reception was held at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. T. NICHOLLS (Langport), the bride's grandparents. Mr. and Mrs BEACHAM received about 100 presents

LATE MRS. E. M. SALWAY

The news of the death in hospital of Mrs. Ethel May SALWAY, wife of Mr. H. M. SALWAY, of the Stores, was received with much regret. She died on Thursday at the age of 45. Since she came to Langport from her native home Isle Brewers, in 1923, Mrs. SALWAY had made many friends. As a loyal churchwarden, she had assisted the choir, and was a member of the Parochial Church Council for several years. Much sympathy is extended to Mr. SALWAY and his only son Hedley

THE FUNERAL.

The funeral on Monday was largely attended. A service at All Saints' Church was conducted by the Vicar, the Rev. E. L. NOEL-COX. Mrs. L. W. M. LANGLEN was the organist

Chief mourners were:- Mr. H. M. SALWAY, husband; Mr. Hedley SALWAY, son; Mrs. PESTER, sister; Mr. and Mrs. F. HOPKINS, Mr. and Mrs. T. HOPKINS, and Mr and Mrs. A. HOPKINS, brothers and sisters-in-law; Mrs. L. LOCK (Altringham), aunt; Mr. G. MALE (Barrington), uncle; Mrs. LAWLER and Mrs. D. LOCK (Altringham), and Mrs. H. ROWSWELL (Fivehead), cousins; Mrs. HARRIS and Mrs. G. SQUIRE, friends.

The many others attending the church were Mr. and Mrs. E. T. SALWAY (Dyers Hob, Curry Rivel), Messrs W. CALDER F G. CHAFFEY, E. KITCHING, P. H. PRIDDLE J. GRINTER, H. PAVEY, W MITCHELL, A. C COOK, and J. H. OSMOND, Mr and Mrs W. R. RICHARDS, Mr. and Mrs. C J CALDER, Mr. and Mrs. H WETHERALL, Mr. and Mrs. T. NICHOLLS, Mrs S. PURCHASE, Mrs. CREED, Mrs. A. M. WEBBER, Mrs. W. ROLFE, Mrs L. WEBB Miss KIRKBY, Mrs G. ADAMS, Mrs. S G. WARD, Miss BIRCH, Mrs. D. SMALL Miss WINCHCOMBE, Miss FIELD, Mrs. A G. BOYLAND, Miss M BOYLAND Mrs Jabez BURROWS, Mrs BOND, Mrs. W R TROUT, Mrs. MITCHELL, Mrs. R. DAVIDGE, Mrs. W PERRY Mrs F LEWIS and Miss D PARKER. Many others attended at the Cemetery to pay their last tribute of respect. Messrs. White & Sons (Taunton) carried out the funeral arrangements.
