DEATH AND FUNERAL OF MR E. WILKINS

A wide circle of friends mourned the passing on Saturday of Mr. Edmund WILKINS, of Milestone Farm. He was aged 73, and was born and died in the house in which he had lived all his life. He had been in ill-health for some time. He leaves one daughter and one son, his wife having died seven years ago.

The funeral took place at North Petherton Cemetery on Thursday afternoon, the Vicar (the Rev. J. ADDY) officiating.

Family mourners were:- Mr. and Mrs. Edward WILKINS (son and daughter-in-law); Mr. and Mrs. D. DURMAN (son-in-law and daughter); Miss Evelyn DURNAM (grand-daughter); Mrs. W. H. PERRY and Mrs. F. J. PERRY (nieces); Mr. Wm. WEBBER (nephew); Mr. W. SLOCOMBE (nephew); Mr. and Mrs. J. E. O. BOND, Mr. and Mrs. A. PANTING, Taunton, and Mr. and Mrs. C. COATE (nephews and nieces); Mr. John SLOCOMBE (brother-in-law); and Mr. C. COUSINS (cousin). Also present were:- Mr. A. V. TAPSCOTT (representing Hearts of Oak Benefit Society), Mr. W. H. PALMER, Mr. C. CALLOW, Mr. F. POCOCK, Mr. S. PYKE, Mr. J. LANG (Bower), Mr. and Mrs. John CHEDZOY, Mrs. PYKE, and others.

There were many beautiful floral tributes.
