Tea was served by the teachers and friends and each child received a present from the Christmas tree. The elder scholars were entertained on Wednesday, and members of the choir and Bible Class on Thursday.

Mothers and children under five, evacuees resident in the village, were entertained to a Christmas party at the Memorial Hall on Saturday. Tea was served by members of the Women's Voluntary Service, and the children were each presented with a gift from the Christmas tree.

Children attending the schools, including evacuees, have been entertained to tea at the Memorial Hall on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week. Following tea the children attended a cinema performance, which they greatly enjoyed.
