KINGSBURY EPISCOPI

A MEMORIAL SERVICE to the late Sergt. Jack PARRIS, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. F. PARRIS, who lost his life on service with the R.A.F. in June, was held at St. Martin's Church on Sunday morning. Members of the Home Guard attended. The service was conducted by the Vicar. Rev. E. R. TUXFORD who in a short address, expressed sympathy with the bereaved parents and family.

GUILD SOCIAL. - It is hoped to send Christmas parcels to all members of the Methodist Guild now serving with the Forces as the result of a social held in the schoolroom. Mrs. BLAKE presided, and the programme consisted of songs, recitations and a sketch. Refreshments were served and afterwards games arranged by Mrs. RANDELL-BELL were enjoyed. There was also a “Bring and Buy” stall, and the total proceeds amounted to £10. The event was arranged by the Guild Secretary, Mrs. Rufus MALE.
