STOCK SALE

A sale of live stock and implements was held at Goosenford, West Monkton, on Thursday, September 23rd, for Mr. W. H. MANNING, who is quitting and retiring from business. The auctioneers were Messrs. C. R. Morris, Sons & Peard, auctioneers of North Curry and Taunton. Some of the principal prices realised were as follows:- Board wheel putts, £7 and £6 10s; spring waggon, £7 10s; Dening's horse rake, £13 10s; Bamford's mower, £17 10s; hay machine, £7 10s; horse hoe, £7 10s; spring tine cultivator, £8; Hornsby's plough, £7 15s; iron draggs, £5; chain harrows, £6; Huxtable's one-way plough, £6 10s; Lister's separator, £4 5s; milk cooler, £1 10s; Jersey heifer and calf, £51; dairy cows, forward in calf, £31 to £40; cows in milk and in calf, £20 to £29 10s; barreners to £14 10s; heifer yearlings, £12 5s to £14 5s per head; bay cart gelding, 62 gns.; sets breeching harness, £4 5s and £7 5s.
