DEATH OF MR. R. J. BAKER

TUBERCULOSIS AFTER ARMY SERVICE.

Considerable sympathy has been expressed with Mr. and Mrs. J. BAKER of Hyde Park, in the great loss they have sustained by the death of their youngest son, Richard John, aged 20, on Wednesday last week.

He served in the Wiltshire Regt., and after about a year developed tuberculosis. Following treatment at Maidstone and later at Cheddon Sanatorium, he returned home only about three weeks before his death. He was held in high esteem by his many friends in the village, to whom his death came as a great shock.

The funeral, conducted by the Vicar (the Rev. J. ADDY) took place at the Cemetery on Friday. The family mourners were:- Mr. and Mrs. J. BAKER (father and mother), Miss E. BAKER and Miss J. BAKER (sisters), Mr. L. BAKER (uncle), Mrs. I. BAKER (sister-in-law), Mrs. T. W. HIGGINS (aunt), Miss C. HIGGINS (cousin) and Mr. G. GARDNER. Others present included Mr. J. DUNN, Mr. C. HIGGINS and Mrs HANCOCK.

There were many beautiful floral tributes.
