STOKE ST. MARY

DEATH OF MR. JAMES HOARE

Much sympathy has been felt for Mrs. HOARE and her family, of Stoke St. Mary in the death of her husband, Mr. James HOARE, who passed away on Sunday night. Mr. HOARE, who was 66, had been ill only for five weeks. A native of Thornfalcon, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John HOARE. He had resided in Stoke for the past 42 years, during which period he had been employed at Higher Broughton Farm, first by the late Mr. Joseph WEBB, and later by Mr. R. C. GRABHAM, who greatly valued his services. Mr. HOARE was well known and highly respected in the parish, and was always ready to do a kindness. He leaves, besides his wife, two sons and a daughter.

The funeral took place on Thursday afternoon the service in the Parish Church being conducted by the Rev. F. G. COOTE (retired). Many parishioners attended. The mourners were: Mrs. HOARE (wife), Mr. Arthur HOARE (son), Mr. and Mrs. F. HOARE (son and daughter-in-law), Mrs. A. MANTON (daughter) Mr. Arthur HOARE and Mr. Alfred HOARE (brothers) Mrs. K. GILL (sister), Miss E. HOARE (grand-daughter), Mr. and Mrs. T. HECTOR, Mr. and Mrs. S. HECTOR, Mr. and Mrs. E. HECTOR, and Mr and Mrs. G. HECTOR (brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law) and Mr H. HECTOR (nephew).

There were a number of floral tributes.

The funeral arrangements were carried out by Mr Leonard E. SMITH of Haydon-road Taunton.
