WEDDING OF MISS CLATWORTHY
HOME GUARD FORM GUARD OF HONOUR
Members of Buckland St. Mary Home Guard, of which the bridegroom is a member, formed a guard of honour at the wedding in St. Peter's Church of Mr. Edwin MANLEY, only son of Mrs. WYATT and the late Mr. Ned MANLEY, Blindmoor Farm, Buckland St. Mary to Miss Linda CLATWORTHY, only daughter of Mrs CLATWORTHY and the late Mr. Stephen CLATWORTHY, Coxhill Farm, North Newton.
The Vicar, Rev. H. S. PATRICK conducted the choral service, and Mrs. G. COATE was at the organ. The bride given away by her brother wore a pale blue two-piece suit, with navy accessories, silver fox fur and a spray of pink carnations. She carried an ivory-bound Prayer-book.
Mr. W. BOARD (cousin of the bridegroom) was “best man.”
As the bridal party left the church they were greeted with a merry peal of bells and the bride was presented with silver horseshoes by little nephews and nieces. A reception was held at the home of the bridegroom's sister. The presents numbered 60.
