News has been received of the death as a result of air operations in December of Sergt. Stanley WILLIAMS, R.A.F., aged 20, of Hedging.
FUNERAL OF OLDEST INHABITANT
The funeral took place on Wednesday at the Parish Church of Mrs. Ann WHITEHEAD, widow of Mr. Charles WHITEHEAD, who died on Sunday at the age of 98 years. Mrs. WHITEHEAD, who was the oldest inhabitant, possessed a remarkable memory of events during her long life. The Vicar (Rev. H. S. PATRICK) conducted the service, which was attended by a number of relatives and friends.
