NORTH PETHERTON

WOMEN LEGIONARIES

There was a good attendance at a meeting of the Women's Section of the North Petherton and district branch of the British Legion at the George Assembly Room on Wednesday afternoon. Miss G. M. OWEN, assistant secretary, Headquarters of the British Legion Women's Section, London, was the speaker.

DANCE FOR R.N.L.I.

A successful dance organised by Mrs. H. T. BEGGS and her Committee was held at the Clarence Coronation Room, on Thursday evening, in aid of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution. Refreshments were served by the Ladies' Committee. The New Quantock Vale Orchestra supplied the music.

YOUTH MOVEMENT STARTED

Miss CASSELL outlined the work in connection with the formation of a branch of the Youth Movement in the village at a social held on Monday evening.

The programme included games and dancng, [sic] and a quiz, “girls v. boys,” was won by the latter.

The helpers were Mrs. MUSGRAVE, Miss A. TOWNSEND, Miss GARDENER, Mr. C. W. STONE and Mr. K. CULLEY (secretary). An enrolment meeting is being held next week.
