NAVAL WEDDING
CHEDDON FITZPAINE
RECTOR'S DAUGHTER
An archway of swords was formed by Naval officers outside the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Cheddon Fitzpaine, on Monday, after the wedding of Leading Wren Eve Helen Sheila GRAHAM, the third daughter of the Rector of Cheddon Fitzpaine, the Rev. C. GRAHAM O.B.E., M.A., R.N., and Mrs. GRAHAM and Lieut. (G.) Erlend Richard Storer CLOUSTON, D.S.C., R.N., of H.M.S Lagos, younger son of Mrs. Storer CLOUSTON and the late Mr. CLOUSTON, of Smoogro, Orkney.
The bride's father conducted the service. Mr. SAMSON, at the organ, played Grieg's “Wedding March” and the hymns “Holy Spirit, Lord of Grace,” “God be in my head,” and “Now thank we all our God,” were sung, and the 127th Psalm was chanted.
Given in marriage by her brother, the Rev. J. F. O.S. GRAHAM, the bride wore white pony skin satin with a net veil appliqued with Honiton lace, which was worn by her grandmother. She carried a bouquet of arum lilies.
The bridesmaids, Miss Margaret SALT and Miss Helen Howard JONES, friends of the bride, wore cyclamen taffeta with muffs – with anemone sprays attached – to match, and their headdresses were of velvet bands with anemone sprays and tulle bows.
The page, John Christopher Graham SMITH, nephew of the bride, wore a sailor suit.
Lieut.-Commander (G.) Antony CRAWFORD, R.N., was best man.
A reception was held at Cheddon Fitzpaine Rectory. The bride's going-away dress was of cherry wool georgette with a shorn lamb coat.
