NURSING ASSOCIATION
The annual meeting of the Nursing Association was held in the School-room on Monday, Mrs. DOVE (president) presiding. The balance-sheet, read by Mrs. BARRINGTON, the hon. treasurer, showed a balance in hand on March 31st of £156 10s 5d. The balance-sheet had been audited by Mr. F. LEWIS.
The Hon. Secretary, Mrs. COATES, reported that during the year Nurse RICH had attended 21 midwifery cases, 24 medical, 72 surgical, 16 chronic cases entailing 2,408 visits, and occupying 2,203 hours.
Mrs. DOVE was re-elected president. Votes of thanks were tendered to the officers, collectors, and Mr. F. LEWIS, and also to Nurse RICH for the able way in which she carried out her duties
FUNERAL OF MRS. DUKE
The funeral took place on Friday of last week of Mrs. Eliza DUKE, whose death was reported in our last issue. The service at the Methodist Church was conducted by the Rev. F. E. WALKER, assisted by the Rev. A. F. PENTNEY. Mr. L. JUDGE was at the organ, and the hymns “Rock of Ages” and “Sun of my Soul” were sung.
Principal mourners were:- Messrs. W. DUKE, T. DUKE and C. DUKE (sons), Mesdames E. DUKE, H. DUKE, F. DUKE and C. DUKE (daughters-in-law), Mesdames E. CULLIFORD, H. LOCK, R. ADAMS, and Misses D. DUKE, E. DUKE and M. DUKE (grandchildren), Mr. and Mrs. FOWLER (friends). Others present were:- The Rev. Jocelyn DAVIES (rector), Miss MIDDLETON, Miss MORRIS, Mrs. WALKER, Mrs. JUDGE, Mrs. H. NORMAN, Mrs. F. F. CHEDZOY, Mr. T. HARDING, Miss MULES, Mrs. J. GLANVILLE, Mrs. T. COATE, Mrs. A. W. MAY, Mr and Mrs. GILLETT, Mrs. VERRIER, and Mrs. HOUSE.
The bearers were:- Messrs W. RICHARDS, W. LANE, F. COATE and S. COATE.
