NORTH PETHERTON
FOR MEMORIAL FUND
A good profit is expected from the fete held by the Women's Institute at Wood Lee, by permission of Mr. W. H. J. MASDING on Thursday evening, in aid of the War Memorial Fund. There were stalls, fancy dress parade, entertainments and refreshments which were all well patronised.
WEDDING OF MISS L. E. RETALLACK
The wedding took place at St. Mary's Church of Miss Lois E. RATALLACK, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. H. RETALLACK, of Verriers, and Mr. John Ernest JOY, only son of Mr. and Mrs. S. JOY of Chelston, Torquay. The bride is staff nurse at Winford Orthopaedic Hospital and the bridegroom is in the Royal Air Force. The Vicar, Rev. J. ADDY, officiated, and Mr. W. HUMPHRIES was at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a turquoise crepe suite with nigger hat, gloves, and shoes. The best man was Mr. Richard WILLIAMS, the bridegroom's uncle. A reception was held after the ceremony at Verriers, about 40 guests being present. Later the happy couple left for London for the honeymoon.
