BARRINGTON

IN PURSUIT OF RABBIT. - At Ilminster Magistrates' Court on Thursday George WILLEY, labourer, of Westport, Hambridge, was summoned for trespassing in pursuit of rabbits. He pleaded not guilty. Cyril Cecil Louis LANGDON, farmer, of Priory Farm, Barrington, said he saw defendant kneeling down near his ditch. He had a sack containing rabbit gins, which he admitted having set on the previous night. Announcing a fine of 10s, the Chairman, Mr. Leonard HEPWORTH, said, “In these days rabbits are food and people like them. Don't do it again.”

MARRIAGE OF MR. E. STEVENS AND MISS P. WHITE

The wedding took place at the Parish Church on Saturday of Mr. E. STEVENS, only son of Mr. and Mrs. R. J. STEVENS, of Drayton, and Miss Peggy Elizabeth WHITE, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. WHITE, of Barrington. The choral service was conducted by Rev. ---. GLASS, and Mr. STENNER was at the organ.

The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in white crepe de moracain studded with sequins, and wore a wreath of orange blossom, and carried dark red carnations. The bridesmaids were Miss Barbara WHITE (sister of the bride), attired in pastel shade of green crepe, and carrying gladioli, and Miss Shirley STEVENS (bridegroom's daughter) and Miss Sheila BARNARD (niece of the bridegroom), attired in pink crepe and carrying gladioli. The small attendant, Miss Veronica WHAITES (niece of the bridegroom), was attired in white. They wore headdresses of gold leaves. The best man was Mr. A. WHAITES. The bridegroom's gifts to the bridesmaids were silver brooches. The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a pearl necklace, the bride's gift to the bridegroom gold cuff links. A reception was held at the Royal Oak Inn, about 60 guests being present. The couple were the recipients of many presents
