MUCHELNEY
WEDDING OF MR. R. J. HAYES AND MISS CHRISTINE CHILDS
At All Saints' Church, Langport, on Tuesday, Mr. Reginald James HAYES, fourth son of Mr. W. and the late Mrs. HAYES, of Muchelney, was married to Miss Christine Dorcas CHILDS, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. CHILDS, Silver-street, Muchelney. Rev. Alan LESLIE officiated with Mr. L. SHEPPARD as organist.
The bride, who was given away by her father wore a two-piece of turquoise crepe with headdress of white carnations. Her shower bouquet was of pink and white carnations, with trailing fern. The bridesmaid Miss Ruth HONEYBUN, of Dorchester (a cousin of the bride), was in pink crepe, carrying a bouquet of pink and white carnations, with headdress of pink roses. The bridegroom's present to the bridesmaid was a pearl necklace. The best man was Mr. Charles HAYES (brother of the bridegroom). The reception was at the Langport Arms Hotel, about 60 guests being entertained, and later the couple left for a motoring tour in Dorset, the bride travelling in a dress of green wool crepe and off-white coat. A silver horseshoe was handed to the bride on leaving the church by her nephew Trevor ODIERNO. The ushers were Mr. Dennis HAYES and Alec CHILDS. The bride received a cheque from the choir and congregation of All Saints' Church, where the bride is organist, also a large number of other presents.
