NORTH PETHERTON

OFFENCES WITH TRAILER

Stanley James CORAM, tractor driver, 7, Dyers Green, was fined £1 at Bridgwater County Sessions on Friday for using a tractor trailer with inefficient brakes, and Messrs. S. P. Coram & Sons, threshing contractors, North Petherton, were fined £1 for not having the unladen weight marked on the trailor.

WOMEN'S SOCIAL HOUR

Members of the Women's Social Hour had their meeting on Friday at the Memorial Hall. Mrs. G. BUNT presided, and in the absence of Mrs. BUNT, sen., through illness, the address was given by Mr. C. W. STONE. Miss GUPPY sang two solos, “Mr Task” and “The Lost Chord,” and a recitation was given by Mrs. BINDING.

PROPERTY SALE

Messrs. W. H. PALMER & Sons offered for sale at the George Hotel, on Wednesday, the dwelling house and orchard, No. 2, Hyde Park, for many years occupied by the late Mrs. G. HUNT. Bidding stated at £2,000 and it was finally secured by Mr. HUTCHINGS at £3,900.

Messrs. BARRINGTON & Sons were the solicitors for the vendors.
