Aged Labourer Dies In Hospital

Collided With Car at North Petherton

Crossing Fore-street on his way home from work on Thursday evening, Mr Henry PARKER, aged 78, mason's labourer, of Newton-road, North Petherton, was in collision with a motor-car driven by Mr. Michael SLADE, of Nether Stowey.

An ambulance took Mr. PARKER to Bridgwater Hospital, but he died soon after admission.

Mr. PARKER had been employed by Messrs. J. Clatworthy & Sons, builders, North Petherton, for over 60 years. He leaves a wife and grown-up family.

Mr. L. C. ROWE, Borough Coroner, took evidence of identification from a son, Clifford David PARKER, on Friday and then adjourned the inquest until a later date.
