PARISH CHURCH WEDDING

Mr. W. A. BUSH AND MISS PAMELA ROWSWELL.

The wedding took place at St. Michael's Church on the Wednesday after Christmas, of Mr. William Albert BUSH, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold BUSH, of South Petherton, and Miss Pamela Maud ROWSWELL, only daughter of Mr. W. ROWSWELL and the late Mrs ROWSWELL, of Montrose, Shepton Beauchamp.

There was a large gathering of friends and relatives in the church. The service, conducted by the Rector (Rev. A. T. STEPHENS), was choral, Miss Sybil ROWSWELL being at the organ.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white moss crepe, cut on Elizabethan style, with veil and a wreath of orange blossom. She carried red carnations. Miss Beryl BUSH (sister of the bridegroom), wore an ankle length dress of champagne moss crepe with sequins, and a headdress of pink carnations. The two little bridesmaids, Miss Gillian TALBOT and Miss Andre BROWN, both godchildren of the bride, wore dresses of pale green crepe-de-chine with poke bonnets edged with pink. They carried small baskets of mixed flowers. Mr. William ENGLAND (friend of the bridegroom), was best man. As the bride left the church she was presented with a silver shoe by little Bridget VOIZEY (cousin of the bride), and silver horseshoes by Master Richard ENGLAND (cousin of the bride), and Miss Jilian COOMBES (friend of the bride). Miss Beryl BUSH received a gift of a double string of pearls from the bridegroom, and the two little bridesmaids each a silver pendant. Touches were rung on the church bells throughout the afternoon and over 60 guests were present at the reception in the Parish Hall. Later the couple left for Paignton. The bride's travelling costume was a donkey brown whipcord coat, with hat to tone. Amongst the numerous presents received by the couple was a table lamp, to the bridegroom from his employer, Mr. E. GILES, of Harp-road Garage, South Petherton.
