Death of Mr. J. R. DARE
Mr. John Robert DARE, of Helland Farm, North Curry, who had lived and farmed in the district throughout his life, died at his home on Wednesday morning. He had been in failing health for several months and passed away after a heart attack. He was 75.
A well-known and highly respected agriculturist, Mr. DARE lived for a long period at Two Bridges Farm, Ile Abbots. Since he removed to Helland some years ago, Two Bridges has been farmed by his son, Mr. William DARE.
He was a popular member of the local branch of the National Farmers' Union. He also belonged to the Ancient Order of Foresters.
Mrs. DARE carries on, at Helland, the private school which she started as the Manchester House School in another part of the village over 26 years ago.
The funeral will take place at the North Curry Baptist Church to-day (Saturday) at 3 o'clock.
