A Taunton Builder Dies
Mr. Sidney MOGGRIDGE
The head of a well-known Taunton firm of building contractors, Mr. Sidney MOGGRIDGE, of Wayside, Halcon Corner, died in the Musgrove Park Hospital on Thursday. He was 67.
He was senior partner in the firm of T. H. Moggridge & Sons, Ltd., East Reach, Taunton, but had not taken an active part in the business for some years. His sons, Reginald and Gerald, are the other directors.
The business was founded by his father, the late Mr. Thomas Henry MOGGRIDGE.
Mr. Sidney MOGGRIDGE, who had spent his whole life at Taunton, was a former president of the South-Western Builders' Federation, and had also held office in the Taunton branch.
He was a keen supporter of Somerset County Cricket Club.
He leaves a wife, two sons and one daughter (Mrs. Evelyn MILLBANKS, who is living in Benghazi with her husband).
The funeral takes place on Monday, at the Octagon Chapel, Middle-street, at 10.30 a.m.
