Cheddon Pony Show

16 Cups in Non-Stop Programme

The annual Cheddon Fitzpaine pony show, will take place next Saturday, September 1st. The showground is near the Rowford bus stop on the West Monkton bus route.

This show, which is for children of eighteen years and under, provides a comprehensive programme, including hunter trials, show classes, jumping and gymkhana events. The first classes enter the ring at 10 a.m. Sharp, and will be followed by a swift moving programme up to about 7 p.m.

The judges include very well-known and experienced people in the horse world, two of whom are travelling down from London.

Cups and Trophies

The President of the show, Sybil, Viscountess PORTMAN, and the Mayor and Mayoress of Taunton (Mr. and Mrs. R. F. WINCKWORTH) will present the cups and trophies. The sixteen cups and trophies include the Cheddon Fitzpaine championship for the best pony in the show, the British Show Pony Society's Cuff Novice perpetual challenge cup for the best 14.2 h.h. Pony, the Cheddon Fitzpaine Television Trophy for the junior jumping and the Cheddon Fitzpaine Television Trophy for the senior jumping.

During the afternoon, there will be a parade of the Taunton Vale Foxhounds, by kind permission of the Master, Major W. M. FOX.
