For not stopping his cycle at a halt sign, Douglas John WARD, milk roundsman, Holway Road, was fined £2 on Wednesday.
DIED SUDDENLY
Mrs. Mabel PRATT (67), of 4, Florence Terrace, Wellington New Road, died suddenly at her home on Thursday week.
COLLAPSED IN PARK
Mr. Albert POOK (64), of 4, Victoria Street, Taunton, was taken to hospital on Friday after collapsing in Vivary Park.
FELL DOWNSTAIRS
Mrs. BAKER (58), of 10, Belvedere Road, Taunton, struck the back of her head when she fell on the stairs at her home on Friday. She was kept in hospital.
SPENT BATTERY
Kenneth Albert CLARK, of George Street, was fined £1 on Wednesday for parking an unlighted car near his home. He told the police the battery had burned out.
Concussion
Mr. Stuart GOVIER (23) of 5, Peter Street, Taunton, was detained in hospital with concussion on Thursday after a motorcycle accident near the Nag's Head on the Ilminster road.

SILVER STREET VISITOR
The services at Silver Street Baptist Church tomorrow (Sunday) will be conducted by the Rev. R. W. THOMSON. Mr. THOMSON was recently appointed minute and committee secretary of the Baptist Union and secretary of the Psalms and Hymns Trust.
NEW LICENSEES
The licensee of the Princes Royal Inn, Canon Street, Mrs. Ruby MATTHEWS, is retiring and being succeeded by Mr. Desmond KELLY, of Eastwick Road. Mr. Ernest L. R. LEE, of Minehead, is to be the licensee of the Eagle Tavern, South Street, in place of Mr. W. VALLANCE, who is retiring.
