Architect's Bride at Shepton Mallet
At the Church of SS. Peter and Paul, Shepton Mallet, on Saturday, Mr. Brian CRIDLAND, an architect, of London, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. H. CRIDLAND, of 39, East Reach, Taunton, was married to Miss Penelope Mary DEAN, eldest daughters of Mr. and Mrs. R. B. DEAN, of Ivey House, Shepton Mallet.
The service was conducted by the bride's uncle.
Given away by her father, the bride wore a full-skirted ballerina-length gown of parchment satin and matching silk shoes. She carried a heart-shaped bouquet of gold roses and white freesias and wore a gold cross and chain.
The bride was attended by her sister, Jane, who wore a ballerina-length gown of apricot-coloured satin with a fitted bodice and box-pleated skirt. Her head-dress and bouquet were of cream roses and white freesias.
The bridegroom's present to the bridesmaid was a fountain pen.
Mr. David CHARLTON was the best man.
About 40 guests attended a reception at the bride's home, after which the couple left for a honeymoon in Jersey.
The bride's going away outfit was a lilac-coloured suit and cloche-shaped hat in shades of lilac, with black accessories.
