KNIT-WEAR DESIGNER'S VISIT

'Round the world with a pair of knitting needles' was the title of a talk by Mr. James NORBURY on Thursday afternoon at the Corfield Hall. An audience of about 150 heard Mr. NORBURY, who is the chief knit-wear designer for Patons aand Baldwins, say that he had travelled to almost every country where knitting was practised – from Iceland to Ceylon - so that he could give his designs an international flavour.

His two resident models, Caroline and Bill, showed 30 different knit-wear designs, 28 of which have been designed by Mr. NORBURY. The accent of the clothes shown was on the Italian styles for casual wear. Mr. NORBURY was invited to give the demonstration by G. and M. HAYES. The Needlework Basket.
