50 Years with Taunton Firm

Funeral of Mr. 'Bert' SUTTON

Mr. Herbert SUTTON, of 9, Winchester Street, Taunton, died suddenly on Tuesday of last week at the age of 68 years. He had collapsed while on his way to a rugby match a fortnight before, but had been progressing favourably until his sudden collapse. He retired as cashier with Messrs. James Pearsall & Co., silk throwsters at Taunton three years ago, after over 50 years. He leaves a daughter. His wife died five years ago.

The funeral service at St. Paul's Meeting Congregational Church on Monday was conducted by the Rev. G. A. F. J. STOREY. Mr. JONES was the organist. The interment followed in the family grave at St. James's Cemetery.

The mourners were: Mr. and Mrs. W. FRY (son-in-law and daughter), Mr. and Mrs. F. YARD (brother-in-law and sister), Mr. and Mrs. G. SUTTON (brother and sister-in-law), Mr. and Mrs. T. HARDING (brother-in-law and sister), Mr. and Mrs. R. S. SUTTON (brother and sister-in-law), Mr. and Mrs. G. PRANCE (brother-in-law and sister), Mr. and Mrs. R. H. SUTTON (brother and sister-in-law), Mr. J. EVELEIGH (adopted brother), Mr. A. NORRIS (nephew), Mr. and Mrs. A. CRIBB (nephew and niece), Sergt. and Mrs. CAMPBELL (friends).

Mrs. N. FOLLETT, Miss R. PRING (sisters-in-law), Mr. G. PRING (brother-in-law) were unable to attend.
