Two hurt on way to hospital
Taunton man fined
Mr. Robert PERRETT, chief public health officer of Williton Rural Council, was driving Mrs. Elizabeth ROBERTSON, of Williton to visit her husband in Taunton Hospital when they were in a head-on crash with another car.
Both were taken to hospital with severe injuries. At Williton Magistrates' Court on Thursday the other driver, Alfred James MANUEL, 71, of 62, Priory Bridge Road, Taunton was fined £15 for careless driving and ordered to pay costs of £2 17s 6d.
MANUEL, defended by Mr. M. PARSONS, said he did not see Mr. PERRETT's car.
