A reward of £120 has been offered by Government for the apprehension of the murderer or murderers of an Irish Packman, found dead in a pit at Road, North Petherton, in June, 1841. The man was supposed to be murdered in a house in a back street in North Petherton, occupied by Sarah HENLEY otherwise SURRIDGE, and Joseph COLES, with whom she cohabits, both of whom, together with George CHEWINGS, James SURRIDGE, James SELLICK, Robert HAWKINS, and Maria TREBLE, are now in custody charged with the murder.
