MILVERTON

FATAL ACCIDENT ON THE DEVON AND SOMERSET RAILWAY. - Mr. MUNCKTON, coroner for West Somerset, held an inquest at the George inn, Hill-common, near Milverton, on Saturday, on the body of William HAYES, aged 18. The deceased was employed on the line as an engine cleaner, and on Thursday morning he foolishly attempted to clean an engine while the steam was up. While so engaged a tube burst, and he was frightfully scalded by steam and boiling water. He was removed to the George inn, where he was attended by Mr. RANDOLPH, and where he died the same evening. The jury returned a verdict of “Accidental death.”
