We are sorry to hear that the illness of Mr Isaac BICKNELL, of Sherford farm, to which we alluded last week, has ended fatally. Mr Isaac BICKNELL, was formerly 12 years at the Globe Hotel, Milverton, then 7 years at Canonsgrove farm, Pitminster, and since Michaelmas last at Sherford farm, Taunton. He complained very recently of a pain in his left foot, and thought his boot must hurt him, but could find nothing in it to account for the inconvenience. He went to Canonsgrove Saturday week, and felt a little poorly on his return; not being better he kept in bed on Sunday. By 4 a.m. Monday(?) Mr FARRANT was called in, and subsequently Drs KINGLAKE and CORDWENT were in attendance(?). All their skill availed little except to ameliorate the awful sufferings which were terminated by death at 1.40 p.m. on Wednesday. The medical gentleman considered the lock-jaw proceeded from the big toe of the left foot on which was a very small b ack <sic> spot but no wound, this toe was lanced on Tuesday. Between the fits the sufferer was conscious and at last, a few minutes after a fit, died calmly. His mind seemed quite happy. The vicar of St. Mary's by particular desire, visited him several times. His age was about 43, he leaves a widow and one little girl. He was very widely known and beloved.
