LANGPORT.
SCHOOL BOARD. - The monthly meeting of the Board for the united school district of Langport, Eastover, and Huish Episcopi was held on May 2nd, when there were present Mr. J. KELWAY (chairman), Mr. W. GOUGH (vice-chairman), Rev. J. STUBBS, Messrs. H. M. MARRIOTT, G. A. COX, and H. C. NORTON. - It was reported that a fee grant from the Education Department, amounting to £32 5s, had been paid to the Treasurer, and that the balance at the bank in favour of the Board amounted to £169 5s. – The annual allowance of £5 for prizes for the school children was granted. – The average attendance for the past month was 256, as against 251 in the corresponding period of last year. – Messrs. NORTON and COX are the visitors of the school for the current month.
