ST. ANDREW'S BOY SCOUTS. - The following appears in the “St. Andrew's Parish Magazine” for October concerning the Boy Scouts:- “Seven of our Scouts entered for and passed the Firemen's Test, which proves their knowledge of the nearest fire alarm post to any given point, the way to use it, run out and couple-up hose, rescue people from burning houses, holding a jumping-sheet, and keep back crowds. Ten Scouts having successfully grown six vegetables in their gardens, are now attending lectures on grafting, pruning, manuring, &c., &c., and hope to soon enter and gain their gardener's badge. Weekly instruction in trestle-bridge building, hut erection, tree felling, and camp kitchen construction is being given, and an examination for Pioneers will be held very shortly. Two Scouts have passed in curing and tanning leather, harness fitting and repairs. The Chaplain, Scoutmaster, and Assistant-Scoutmaster are giving each Scout a flower-pot and three daffodil bulbs, with instructions for culture, in the hope that in the spring a little show may be held and prizes given for the best blooms.
